In 1989 I caught the bug. I was sales manager for car dealership. That year I was fortunate to win a Caribbean cruise aboard the Sovereign Of The Seas (above) and learned why they call it “Like no other vacation on earth.” Twenty three cruises later I’m still excited at the prospect of each new cruise.
Our last cruise was 12 days and left Barcelona on the Brilliance Of The Seas for the French Riviera, Pisa, Rome, the Greek islands, Epheses (of Biblical fame), Athens, Capri and back to Barcelona. Unforgettable: made especially so by the leader in innovative cruise ships that provide great FREE family entertainment including live original productions, celebrity entertainers, an ice show with world renown skaters, a casino and sports such as golf, basketball, rock climbing, a fitness center rivaling Bally, ice skating, surfing on the flow rider at 30 mph and wonderful shore excursions to enjoy the hospitality of the ports of call. Without the slums or the crime rate, the ships are floating cities that keep you anticipating your next cruise. The cruise lines thrive on return customers so they go out of their way to insure a smooth voyage avoiding storms and rough seas. Modern cruise ships are so large and stable I can truthfully say I never saw anyone sea sick. My motion sensitive daughter asked me, “When to we sail, daddy?” She was not aware we had left port and had been at sea for over an hour. And the food, oh, the food is gourmet and included in the fare. There is an old story about a man who came aboard as a passenger and they rolled him off as cargo. And the staff treat you like royalty. And that’s why after 23 cruises it doesn’t much matter where we go; we just love ship board life. You unpack and pack just once. It seems to my wife and I like a second home and a lot more comfortable than a cabin in the mountains.donsworldwidediscounts.com Disclosure: Compensated Affiliate
A lot of people bring aboard too much luggage. On one trip a veteran cruiser conducted a class on how to pack for a tropical cruise. Believe it or not my wife and I each limit ourselves to one carry on and on large hand bag. I pack a dark suit for formal evenings and underwear and dockers, shorts, swim trunks and golf shirts are rolled up. I come on board wearing a light blazer, slacks and a broad brimmed hat. Traveling light allows us to bypass the hassle of baggage claim. To keep trim, if our destination is within 6 decks, we take the plush stairways and enjoy the artwork.
Just think, all this for from $100 to $200 a night. The most popular cruises are 7 days which fit into most vacation plans. Ready for the vacation of your life?
